Taipei is a beautiful city and one with over 500 quality hotels for you to choose from. Some people prefer 4 or 5-star luxury, but in this article we will focus on the best 3-star hotels in the city. These hotels are designed to a high standard, with all of the amenities you could need for a pleasant stay. What’s more, the fact that they are considerably less than their 5-star counterparts, and somewhat less than 4-star hotels as well, means that you can save some of your money to spend on great food, great drink and great entertainment, three things that Taipei excels at.

Via Hotel

This is possible the highest rated hotel on this list, with average customer reviews that top all of the others on many of the big hotel websites, including our favorite, Hotels Combined. The location is key here, as it is a short walk from Ximending, with the national Taiwan Museum and other great attractions just a short distance away. There are also airport transfers and express check-ins to make your transition smoother and to get you ready for your vacation in Taipei.

The rooms at the Via Hotel all come with a private bathroom, a fridge and a flat-screen television, among other amenities. The hotel itself does not have a fitness centre, a sauna or any other luxuries typical of higher-rated hotels, which is a shame, but this is a 3-star establishment after all and it does have plenty going for it. In the main hotel area you will find a tour desk, which can help you find the best events, attractions and deals in the city, and there is also a concierge, laundry service and more.

Yomi Hotel

The thing that makes this highly-modernized hotel stand out for us is the fact that it has a fitness center and a few other luxuries not typically found in 3-star hotels in this city. High-speed internet access is also available throughout the hotel and you can even take advantage of their bicycle hire service, getting around the city in a quick, easy and healthy way.

Yomi Hotel is ideal for those who are not confident of foreign food and want to stick to what they know, as their onsite restaurant serves many International foods. They also stock some local specialties though, so don’t worry if you do like to try new things. Breakfast offers a wide range of foods, and this is served to all guests every morning in the restaurant area. All of the rooms in the Yomi Hotel come with a fridge and a minibar, and guests can help themselves to cups of tea and coffee in there too, ordering room service for that little something extra if they are in the mood.

The front desk is not only available 24 hours a day, but they can also help guests get around the city. They know the ins and outs of Taipei and as well as directing you to the best places to eat and drink, they can also book tours around the best sights in the city. The rooms aren’t quite up to the standard as the Via hotel listed above, but you definitely get your money’s worth and there is nothing here to suggest that Yomi Hotel should not be rated higher than it is. So take advantage of 3-star prices with 4-star hospitality while you can, because it will probably not remain that way for long.

ECFA Hotel Chengdu

A short walk from the Red House Theater, the ECFA Hotel Chengdu offers modern 3-star luxury, with free internet throughout the building, a front desk that is available 24 hours a day, flat-screen televisions in all of the rooms and a great location as well. ECFA Hotel Chengdu is right next to the Ximen Metro Station and it is a ten minute walk away from Ximending. It is also not too far from the Taipei Songshan Airport, which can be reached in less than half an hour by car. The airport does not have a shuttle service, but the front desk will be happy to arrange a taxi to take you to the airport on your final day, and the relatively short trip will mean that it won’t cost you the earth.

Green World Hotel

There are 128 rooms in the Green World Hotel and at the time of writing, all of them have recently been refurbished and updated. These rooms get the basics right, with comfort and simplicity being the order of the day. They all have plush and comfortable beds, and all rooms come with a minibar, a fridge, a flat-screen television with cable channels and a private bathroom, in which you will find a modern shower.

The Green World does not have a fitness center or a gym of any kind, but it does have a laundry service and the front desk is helpful in other ways as well. There is also an onsite restaurant if you are feeling peckish, and all rooms come with tea and coffee making facilities if you want to make yourself a drink at any point.

As far as location goes, the Green World Hotel is ideally placed for a commute around the city, being just a short distance away from the Taipei Railway Station and the Taipei Bus Station, both of which will take you all around the city of Taipei.

Diary of Taipei Hotel

This is an odd name for a hotel, and what’s even more odd is that there is a Diary of Taipei Hotel II — a sequel, if you like. This is a very good hotel though and one that gets all of the basics right. It is a little on the smaller size and has one of the smallest average room sizes of all of the hotels listed here, but Taipei is generally a compact city and when it comes to 3-star hotels designed to a high standard, you’re not going to get much better.

There are 53 modern rooms inside the Diary of Taipei Hotel, and as it is a short distance away from some great attractions, including the Taipei Futai Street Mansion and the Presidential Office Building, it serves as the perfect base for your Taipei adventure — enough to fill your own travel diary.

In this article we will take a look at the best 5-star hotels in the city, offering you everything you could need for an experience that you will not forget in a hurry.

W Taipei

Designed by a leading interior design firm based in London, with the finest painstaking detail paid to every interior and exterior aspect, the W Taipei is the epitome of luxury in the city of Taipei. This is as good as it gets in Taipei, and in many other cities for that matter.

As for the restaurant, the place where all guests can enjoy their breakfasts and can also sit down for an evening or afternoon meal, is the YEN. If the fine dining menu offered at this restaurant is not to your taste then there are plenty of other places to eat around the hotel itself. The W Taipei is located in the Xinyi District, which is a short distance from the Taipei World Trade Center and Taipei 101, which is one of the most visited tourist attractions in the city of Taipei and for a number of years was also one of the tallest buildings in the world.

Landis Taipei Hotel

Located in the Zhongshan District, the Landis is a 5-star hotel with 209 modern rooms, all of which are fitted with amenities that can ensure that guests at the Landis Taipei Hotel can have a comfortable stay. The rooms all have access to free Wi-Fi, with a bathtub and complementary bottled water.

As far as the location goes, the Landis Taipei Hotel is just a short walk away from the Hsing Tian Kong, whilst the National Palace Museum, the iconic Taipei 101 and the Night Market can be reached via a short taxi ride.

Regent Taipei

The modern 5-star accommodation on offer at the Regent Taipei is some of the best in the city, and the hotel itself also offers some great luxury facilities for its guests. As with the Landis Taipei Hotel mentioned above, the Regent Taipei has child minding services so you can enjoy everything that the local area and the wider city of Taipei has to offer. The hotel is not too far away from the Dazhi Metro, which can take guests around the city. If you want to book a taxi for a short drive then you can make it to the iconic Taipei 101 in just a few minutes, and the Night Market is also not too far away.

The rooms at the Regent Taipei come with great views of the city, some of the best you will find in any of the city’s many hotels. There are also flat-screen televisions, mini bars, slippers and more in each of the rooms, and guests can also take advantage of valet parking and an executive floor. As for dining options, there are plenty to choose from at the Regent Taipei. These include the Mihan Honke and Silks, and there is Chinese cuisine and food with a more International flavor on offer.

Not only is there a fitness center in the Regent Taipei, but there are also fitness classes that guests can take part in. The hotel also has a swimming pool, a beauty centre, massage facilities and more. Guests can also enjoy wireless internet throughout the building.

The Sherwood Taipei

Another top 5-tar hotel that has it all is the Sherwood, which is located in the Songshan District. At this luxury hotel guests can enjoy access to a mini bar, a flat-screen television, cable television channels, on-demand movies and much more. There is Italian food served at the Toscana restaurant located onsite, and guests can also opt for some Japanese fare at the Kouma restaurant. If none of these excite the tastebuds then there are also plenty of popular restaurants located near to the hotel.

The Sherwood has everything that business and leisure travelers could ask for in a 5-star hotel, with a fitness room, a business center, swimming pools (both outdoor and indoor), a beauty center, massage facilities, a wellness center and much more. All guests can access high-speed internet throughout the building, and there is also a gift shop located within the hotel, selling a range of souvenirs to help you remember your trip to this modern and exciting city.

There are plenty of hotels to choose from the in the city of Taipei, and for many travelers to this modern city the luxury and affordability offered by a 4-star hotel is the best way to go. They are not as expensive as a 5-star hotel and they offer more in terms of amenities and hotel facilities than a 3-star hotel. Typically the difference between a 4-star and a 5-star, other than price, is that a 5-star pays more attention to the small details that many travelers miss anyway.

In this article we will take a look at the best 4-star hotels, the ones that missed the 5-star cut by a short distance, offering great value for money and creating the perfect base for your trip to Taipei.

The Okura Prestige Taipei

This is one of the most highly rated 4-star hotels that you will find in the city of Taipei. This is pretty much adored on all of the hotel reviews sites, with thousands of user reviews in total, the vast majority of which have nothing but good things to say. Our own experience of the The Okura Prestige Taipei was also a very good one, as this hotel excels in all areas and does everything that you could ask of it and so much more.

With many views of this stunning city, and a location deep in the heart of the vibrant Zhongshan District, The Okura Prestige Taipei serves up delicious breakfasts to all guests every morning, with the onsite Toh-Ka-Lin restaurant doing the honors. This restaurant serves Chinese food throughout the day, but there is a little more of an International flavor to the cuisine during breakfast.

As well as an outdoor pool, The Okura Prestige Taipei also has a sauna and a fitness room, not to mention a business center, laundry service, tour desk and more. If you want to relax away from the pool or sauna then you can enjoy a relaxing massage in the spa or wellness center, with a variety of other treatment options available. All of the rooms come with room service (with the option for breakfast in the room) a mini bar, a fridge, air conditioning, a hair dryer and tea and coffee making facilities. There is also wireless internet available throughout the hotel, and the 24-hour front desk can help you out if you have any questions or need any assistance.

Dandy Hotel Daan

Although not as highly rated as the The Okura Prestige Taipei, the Dandy Hotel Daan offers more than enough to ensure you have a comfortable and enjoyable vacation in this great city. This 4-star hotel has 73 rooms in total, all which which are fitted to a high standard and with a modern feel. Each hotel room has its own en-suite bathroom, inside which you will find a hairdryer, toiletries and a shower. If you want something a little more soothing, then some of them also have baths.

There is no fitness center or sauna in the Dandy Hotel Daan, which lets it down a little. However, it does have a business center, a conference room and other facilities, such as a laundry service, a dry cleaning service and more. High speed internet is also available throughout the Dandy Hotel Daan, and there is also valet parking and an airport shuttle.

As for the location, the Dandy Hotel Daan is located just a twenty minute walk away from Daan Station, which can take you anywhere you want to go within the city of Taipei. If you want to stay within the district then there is plenty to see and do here as well, including the Daan Forest Park, which can be reached following a ten minute walk, and the Grand Mosque and Jianguo Jade and Flower Market, which is also nearby.

iTaipei Service Apartment

One of the main benefits of the iTaipei Service Apartment is the size of the rooms. Taipei is a compact city, and much like other major cities in the East, including those across Japan, land is at a premium here which means that the rooms in this city tend to be on the small side. The rooms at the iTaipei, however, are some of the biggest we have seen in a 4-star hotel.

There is a 24-hour reception desk within the hotel and there are also meeting rooms, which makes it ideal for business travelers who need to arrange conference calls and meetings. There is also a concierge and if you’re planning on a long stay, or if you packed light, then there is also a laundry service and a dry cleaning service on hand that can assist you with quickly laundering your clothes.

The iTaipei hotel is very close to many of the city’s most visited attractions, including the National Taiwan Museum and the Taipei Futai Street Mansion, and they even have an airport shuttle service that can take you to and from the airport. There is a fitness center within the hotel, so you can keep up with your workout regime whilst on vacation, and high speed internet is available throughout the building. If you have rented a car or plan to do so, then you can also make use of the parking facility that the hotel offers to all of its guests.

Cosmos Hotel Taipei

Located in the same district as the iTaipei hotel mentioned above, the Cosmos Hotel Taipei is a short distance from many of the city’s attractions and there is also an airport shuttle, along with parking facilities. There is a fitness center inside the Cosmos Hotel Taipei, and there is also a beauty center where guests can indulge in a number of pampering treatments, including passages. There is even a salon, perfect for those seeking the perfect hairstyle for a night out, along with a coffee bar.

As for the rooms at the Cosmos Hotel Taipei, there are a huge 225 of them in total, all of which are designed to a highly modern standard, with a fridge and a flat-screen television, offering cable channels and pay-per-view channels, along with a DVD player. All guests are served breakfast at the Shanghai restaurant every morning, whilst dinner and other meals can be ordered throughout the day at the Cantonese Dim Sum, where local delicacies are served. If this is not to your taste, then there are plenty of restaurants, cafes and more located in the surrounding district.
