Established way back in 1912, the National Taipei University of Technology has gone through many name changes but it has always remained a great source of learning for students across Taipei. It currently assists over 10,000 students with their higher education learning, with over 450 faculty members serving them.

The National Taipei University of Technology is the place to be in Taiwan if you are learning everything from Mechanical Engineering to Chemical Engineering, and there are also degrees and courses in management, design and humanities.

The National Taipei University of Technology is located in the Da’an District, which is the most populated district in the city and is also the most lively. This is a great district for tourists, so if you head here to see the university then you will also have plenty of other things to see and do. One of the first places you should stop off at after seeing the National Taipei University of Technology, is the Da’an Forest Park, which offers some greenery and some serenity in the middle of this busy city.

There are also plenty of museums in the Da’an District, so get yourself to the Museum of Archives or the Museum of Zoology if you want to soak up some culture. As a tourist in the Da’an District you’ll also need a comfortable hotel, maybe with a bit of luxury on the side, and the following two hotels, located a stone’s throw from the National Taipei University of Technology, can help you there.

Hotel Eclat Taipei

The Hotel Eclat Taipei is a five-star hotel. This may cost a little bit more than some of the other hotels in the district, but if you have the money and you want the best of the best, then this is the place to be. This is an elegant and sophisticated hotel. It is one of the most beautiful hotels in the city, and that, along with the many amenities and services offered, is why this receives nothing but the best ratings from the vast majority of the guests that book a room here.

  • Airport Shuttle? No
  • Free WiFi? Yes
  • Pool? No
  • Fitness Center? No
  • Restaurants? Yes
  • Near Public Transport? Yes

There are only 60 rooms at the Hotel Eclat Taipei, with four options to choose from. These include the basic Deluxe King Room, all the way up to the Premier 9 King Room. All of these rooms have a long list of amenities, and these include a butler service and a Bang & Olufsen audio system — one of the most sought-after brands in the world.

The Hotel Eclat Taipei goes out of its way to offer its guest a premium and luxury service, and as well as an attentive 24-hour front desk, there is also a tour desk that can help you get around the city. The staff at the tour desk can arrange for bus tours and they can also recommend attractions and restaurants. If you would prefer to eat within the hotel then the Eclat Lounge serves some Western favorites, and once your appetite is sated then you can enjoy a relaxing drink at the George Bar.

Dandy Hotel-Daan Park Branch

The Dandy Hotel-Daan Park Branch is a fairly small but cozy hotel that has been rated four-stars by those in the know, and also have scores of great ratings from the many tourists that have passed through this hotel over the last few years. This is a beautiful city and with so much going on and with so much to explore, the Da’an District and the Dandy Hotel-Daan Park Branch is a great way to get the most out of it.

  • Free WiFi? Yes
  • Pool? No
  • Fitness Center? No
  • Restaurants? No
  • Near Public Transport? Yes

All of the rooms at the Dandy Hotel-Daan Park Branch are fitted with 42-inch televisions. This is impressive, and although you shouldn’t pick your hotel based on the size of the TV, it certainly helps. You didn’t travel halfway around the world to watch television, but at the same time, if you’re relaxing on an evening then you don’t want a TV that you have to squint to see. There is definitely no squinting with these TVs, and they also come with cable channels and a DVD player, with plenty of DVDs stocked at the front desk for that quiet night-in.

There is a self-service laundry service at the Dandy Hotel-Daan Park Branch, perfect for long stays and for when you want to travel light, and there is also a business center on site, where guests can make use of fax and photocopying services. There is also a bar onsite and during the winter season guests are served free hot drinks to help them keep the cold at bay.

The National Taipei University was founded way back in 1949, although it has only been recognized by its current name since 2000, prior to which it was known as the College of Law and Business, National Chung Hsing University. Considered to be one of the best universities in the country, the National Taipei University is the place to be if you want to study law, business and humanities, with some of the best courses and teachers in the country when it comes to these subjects and several others.

Although the main campus of the National Taipei University is located in the Sanxia District, there are other campuses located in the more active Zhongshan District, which is also more popular with the tourists. However, if you want to visit the main campus of the National Taipei University, then there is no shortage of other attractions to keep you busy during your stay. The Sanxia District is actually the second largest in New Taipei City, and as well as a host of restaurants and bars where you can sample local and International cuisine and drinks, there are also temples, such as the Zushi Temple, and museums, such as the History Museum and the Hakka Museum.

If you want a comfortable base for your visit to this region, then checkout the hotels listed below. We like to think that we know what we’re talking about when it comes to accommodation in Taipei, and as far as we are concerned these are the best hotels you will find in the Sanxia District, all of which are within reach of the National Taipei University.
