The Danshui or Tamsui District is located in New Taipei City, a popular location with travelers from all over the world. The Danshui District has plenty to offer in regards to tourist attractions and also has a number of transportation links that can make traveling to other areas of Taipei a breeze.

The Tamsui Old Street is one of the most popular attractions in the Danshui District. This is a typical Taiwanese street, packed with plenty of shops selling all sorts of wares. This gives tourists a feel for the real Taiwan and also for the historical Taiwan, as this street and the shops that decorate it have existed for many years. The Old Street is located a short walk from a nearby Metro line and can also be covered by foot. The Teng Feng Fish Ball Museum is also not too far away, showcasing the history of this famous delicacy that you will probably eat at least once during your trip to the city.

Other tourist attractions in the Danshui District include the Drop of Water Memorial Hall, and there are also plenty of places to eat and drink in the area, giving you a taste for real Taiwanese food. If the Danshui District sounds like the perfect base for your holiday to this region, then then checkout our list of the best hotels in this district.

Fullon Hotel Danshuei Fisermens Wharf

This is not the only Fullon Hotel on this list, as this is a brand that is firmly established in New Taipei City, but this is our favorite and the one that gets our best ranking as far as hotels in the Danshui District go.

  • Airport Shuttle? Yes
  • Free WiFi? Yes
  • Pool? Yes
  • Fitness Center? Yes
  • Restaurants? Yes
  • Near Public Transport? No

As you can see from our checklist above, the 5-star rated Fullon Hotel Danshuei Fisermen’s Wharf has all of the basics covered, but there is so much more on offer here. There is also a business center, conference rooms and meeting rooms which make this an ideal choice for professionals or businesses that have business to conduct in the city. There is also disabled access and there are disabled-ready rooms available which means the hotel really is for everyone.

As well as a place to grab a bite to eat and drink inside the hotel, the Fullon Hotel Danshuei Fisermen’s Wharf also has a coffee bar and several shops, where guests can purchase souvenirs and more. There are also massage facilities and a spa and wellness center. The Fullon Hotel Danshuei Fisermen’s Wharf even has a playground to keep the little ones busy throughout the day and on an evening, making this a great hotel for families. There is also a tour desk, where guests can arrange sight sighing tours and even bus tours.

As for the rooms, there are close to 200 in total and all of them come equipped with televisions, seating areas and complementary bathrobes, along with a range of amenities that can make your stay a comfortable one.

Fullon Hot Spring Resort Danehuei Taipei

Also located in the Danshui District, this Fullon hotel is only a 4-star, but there is still plenty on offer, and all rooms are a little cheaper than the rooms at the Fullon hotel reviewed above.

  • Airport Shuttle? Yes
  • Free WiFi? Yes
  • Pool? Yes
  • Fitness Center? Yes
  • Restaurants? No
  • Near Public Transport? No

As mentioned above, one of the negatives concerning the Fullon Hot Spring Resort Danehuei Taipei is that there is no restaurant. There is a room for guests to enjoy their breakfasts, but this is not available throughout the day and does not serve dinner or evening menus. There is room service available though, so if you fancy a bite to eat at anytime during the day then simply peruse the in-room menu and call down to the kitchen with your order.

The many floors of the hotel are accessed by an elevator and there are also fully equipped business rooms where those in the city to work can stage meetings, presentations and conferences. The staff at the Fullon Hot Spring Resort also offer a number of services to make their guests’ stay in the hotel easier, including dry cleaning, laundry and safety deposit boxes.

Alive Regimen Hotel

There are only 49 rooms in the Alive Regimen Hotel, but they offer quite a lot of space, which is a relief considering that many hotel rooms in this city are on the small side. The Alive Regimen Hotel is a 3-star hotel that is almost certainly on its way up. All of the rooms at this hotel come with free bottled water and a bathtub, and there is also a steam bath at the wellness center, where guests can pamper themselves with facials, massages and other treatments.

  • Airport Shuttle? Yes
  • Free WiFi? Yes
  • Pool? No
  • Fitness Center? No
  • Restaurants? Yes
  • Near Public Transport? No

The Alive Regimen Hotel not only has a restaurant that serves dishes throughout the day, but room service can also be ordered at all hours of the day. This hotel also has karaoke, which is a rare but welcomed find in Taipei hotels, and that’s one of the many reasons why the Alive Regimen Hotel makes it onto our list of the best hotels in the Danshui District district.

The Fisher Hotel

This is a small hotel, with only 36 rooms, but each of these offer a unique and cozy design, providing guests with a home away from home. The rooms are fairly basic as far as amenities go, but this is a 3-star hotel and all of the basics are there, so unless you’re used to 5-star refinement, then you’ll probably not notice or care.

  • Airport Shuttle? Yes
  • Free WiFi? Yes
  • Pool? No
  • Fitness Center? No
  • Restaurants? Yes
  • Near Public Transport? No

The Fisher Hotel also has a spa and wellness center, complete with a Jacuzzi, which is quite a luxury for a 3-star hotel. There is also a free bicycle rental service, so if you didn’t rent a car in the city and don’t fancy taking busses or taxis everywhere, then you can see the city on two wheels and get yourself some exercise in the process. All guests at The Fisher Hotel can enjoy a big breakfast every morning, and the hotel is also within walking distance of the Tamsui Fisherman’s Wharf.
